Gaelic football is the national sport of Ireland and competes and was first played in 1887. The finals are played in Croke Park in Dublin each year and draws in large viewing audiences. Gaelic football is rooted in Ireland at club and county level and is not played professional but at an amateur level. However, many forms of sponsorship are available.
